Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

Owners across the Ruby, Sapphire and Abalone designs praise easy cleaning and the pattern; thinness, color shifts and wash wear are caveats

Room×Lab read all 5,481 distinct written owner reviews that Ruggable shares across its Cambria Ruby, Sapphire and Abalone designs, so the counts here cover all three colors, not the Ruby alone. The reviews cover both the older two-piece rug (a washable cover over a pad) and the current tufted all-in-one, and findings tied to one construction are labelled. A Ruggable UK help article says buyers are invited to review about 50 days after purchase. The six reviews below set the main complaints (thinness, fraying after one wash, a later Ruby in a different red) beside typical praise. 4,660 of the reviews are 5-star, so the pairing does not mean complaints are as common as praise.

Room×Lab rating: 8.1 out of 10 (medium confidence). In reviews Ruggable shares across the Ruby, Sapphire and Abalone designs, owners praise easy stain cleanup and washing above all. A meaningful minority find it thin, see colors differ from photos or between orders, or struggle to wash large sizes. Most long-term owner reports describe the older two-piece rug.

  • Cleaning is the clearest owner-reported strength: 2,288 favorable mentions; 143 concerns — Across the 5,481 written reviews Room×Lab read, owners frequently described easier stain cleanup and successful washing. Large rugs could be cumbersome, while fading, fraying, curling, and prolonged drying were isolated reported problems.
  • The Cambria look wins broad approval, with some color caveats: 1,221 favorable mentions; 219 concerns — Owners often liked the pattern and finish. Concerns included muted or mismatched online color, a printed appearance, wash fading, and different red shades between separate Ruby purchases.
  • Durability trends favorable, but edge and wash failures are reported: 327 favorable mentions; 137 concerns — Many owners describe the look lasting through repeated use and washing. Others report fraying, fading, curling and edge wear, some of it early: one owner of the older two-piece rug saw fraying after a single wash. These reviews cover both the older and the current tufted rug, so not every issue applies to today's version.

Before buying

Choose the Ruby for its warm Persian pattern and machine washing. Check that your washer takes your size and that the built-in backing grips your floor, since it can't go over a rug pad; some owners report fading and edge wear after repeated washes.
