White Oak and Walnut owners praise legs-only setup and roomy soft-close drawers; some find it small beside king beds, a few report breakage

Room×Lab read 625 distinct written owner reviews of Article’s Lenia 2-Drawer Nightstand, drawn from 942 ratings that average 4.83, 844 of them five stars. Article shows White Oak and Walnut reviews together, so every count and rating here covers both finishes. Each owner card names the finish that owner bought. The cards below show two one-star complaints, two owners who wanted a larger nightstand and two detailed praise reviews. Most owners give five stars, so complaints are rarer than this mix suggests.

Room×Lab rating: 8.3 out of 10 (medium confidence). White Oak and Walnut owners average 4.83 and praise legs-only setup, roomy soft-close drawers and the design. Some find it small beside a king bed. Isolated reports describe a drawer failing on first use, chipped veneer, rusted fittings and damaged deliveries. Few owners report how it holds up over years.

• Setup is notably simple: 125 favorable mentions; 11 concerns — Across both finishes, owners usually described setup as little more than attaching the legs and felt pads. The few concerns were mostly about damaged shipments or hardware, not the assembly itself.
• Compact dimensions suit smaller spaces: 85 favorable mentions; 25 concerns — Owners often liked the narrow footprint and how much the drawers hold for the size. Owners with concerns found it too small beside a king bed or wanted more width or height.
• Sturdy impressions come with durability caveats: 11 favorable mentions; 10 concerns — Owners describe sturdy construction, while a handful report a drawer breaking (one Walnut owner’s drawer and mechanism failed on first use), chipped veneer, rusted fittings or vulnerable veneer edges. These are isolated reports among hundreds of reviews.

Before buying

Measure the 20-inch width against your bed; some found it small beside a king. Check the legs, drawers and veneer edges on arrival, since a few owners got damaged pieces or a failed drawer, and read Article’s warranty for veneer and drawer hardware.
