Room×Lab Review · Review updated October 15, 2026

Across Movie Night pieces, owners love the deep lounging; cushion upkeep and fabric wear divide them, mostly in sofa and sectional reports

Sundays shows 325 ratings across the Movie Night collection, 252 of them five stars; Room×Lab read 322 distinct written reviews after setting aside three duplicates. They cover sofas, modular sectionals, corner chairs, ottoman-only purchases and older versions such as Condo configurations, in many sizes and fabrics, and some name no piece, so the rating and count describe the collection, not only the Large armless chair. The owner accounts below run from about six weeks to almost three years of use. They include a corner-chair review, the piece closest to this chair, alongside favorable and critical sofa and sectional reports; they are examples, not a tally.

Room×Lab rating: 6.2 out of 10 (medium confidence). Across Movie Night sofas, sectionals and chairs, owners consistently praise deep, relaxed lounging. The caveats come mostly from sofa and sectional owners rather than single-chair buyers: cushions that flatten within weeks to months or need constant fluffing, plus pilling and escaping feathers on various fabrics.

  • Deep, relaxed lounging comfort: Selected reviews: 4 favorable and 3 critical accounts of seating comfort; examples, not a full tally. — Favorable accounts cover movie watching, a corner chair used by tall owners and an expanded modular arrangement. Critical accounts describe noisy filling, back soreness and frame pressure felt through an older Condo back cushion.
  • Cushions need regular fluffing: Selected reviews: 3 favorable and 4 critical accounts of cushion upkeep; examples, not a full tally. — A two-year owner happily fluffs daily, and a chair owner finds flipping helps. Others report flattening within weeks, fluffing after every sitting, sliding cushions and support that stops recovering; a couch owner with almost three years of use says the trouble began around year one. A Newport Stripe couch owner reports lost seat height.
  • Pilling and cover wear: Selected reviews: 5 critical accounts of pilling and wear; 1 two-year owner liked washed covers. Not a full tally. — Reports range from pilling within weeks to covers needing replacement after three months and holes after two years. Newport Stripe is named in one account; most others leave the fabric unspecified. One follow-up links base-cover pilling to washing. Two other couch owners report pilling on linen or white-linen covers; neither names Cream Linen.

Before buying

Choose the Large armless chair for deep, sink-in lounging if you'll fluff and flip cushions routinely; across the Movie Night range, owners report flattening, pilling and escaping feathers. Skip it if you need firm, upright support or easy-care upholstery.
