Blue Berry owners find it sturdy and good for curling up, but pilling is a recurring complaint across Mod colors

Room×Lab read every written owner review of Article's Mod 35-inch Lounge Chair across its colors: 1,902 distinct written reviews dated August 2017 through August 2026, covering the Blue Berry, Jay Gray, Orange Spice and Spearmint Aqua listings, including older versions of the chair. Counts and themes below cover all colors together. Where the reviews below give an ownership period, it runs from about four months to three years. They show Blue Berry owners first, then the most detailed fabric and service complaints; most owners rate the chair highly, so complaints are less common than this mix suggests.

Room×Lab rating: 8.1 out of 10 (medium confidence). One Blue Berry owner describes a heavy, sturdy chair and a Blue Berry household finds it good for curling up; owners across all Mod colors rate it highly. The caveats: pilling and snagging recur across colors, and Article's help with wear or noise claims was mixed.

  • Supportive comfort, with an upright bias: 962 favorable comfort mentions; 141 concerns (all colors) — A Blue Berry household with a 5-foot-2 and a 6-foot-4 adult finds it good for curling up and reading; another Blue Berry owner found it comfortable only sitting straight. Across all Mod colors, owners often liked it for reading or curling up; concerns center on firmness, an upright back and limited head or lumbar support.
  • A sculptural look that can differ from screen expectations: 604 favorable color-and-finish mentions; 56 concerns (all colors) — A Blue Berry owner found the tweed-like fabric warm to sit on. Across all Mod colors, owners praised the design and colors, while some found the weave rougher, warmer, bluer, brighter or more multicolored than expected.
  • Sturdy construction, but recurring fabric wear: 133 favorable durability mentions; 135 concerns (all colors) — A Blue Berry owner saw pilling begin quickly. Across all Mod colors, owners describe a solid chair, while pilling, fuzzing, snagging, loose threads, lost buttons and reduced padding recur, some within the first year. Cushion dipping and a torn underside lining are individual reports.

Before buying

Choose it for firm, upright support if you can live with pilling and snagging, which recur across Mod colors; one Blue Berry owner saw pilling quickly. Measure the 35-by-34-inch footprint and plan for fabric care; check Article's warranty on fabric wear.
