Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

A Nomad Armchair owner found the cushion fabric loose and bunching; across the Nomad range, owners praise firm support but report pilling

Room×Lab read 1,373 distinct written reviews from Burrow's reviews of the whole Nomad range, dated March 2017 through August 2026. They are shown for both the Nomad Armchair and the Nomad Armchair with Chaise, and also cover Nomad sofas, loveseats, sectionals, ottomans and pillows in several upholstery options, so many describe the modular system as a whole. Older reviews may describe the construction from before the Nomad Plus update. The six reviews below range from 1 to 5 stars and include more complaints than the range as a whole, where most reviews give 4 or 5 stars; only one is about an armchair.

Room×Lab rating: 7.6 out of 10 (limited confidence). One Nomad Armchair owner gave it 4 stars but found the cushion fabric loose and bunching. Across the Nomad range, owners praise supportive comfort, compact-space fit and modularity; the caveats are hard cushions, thin back support, and upholstery that pills or frays.

  • Supportive comfort, not a sink-in lounge chair: 556 favorable mentions; 174 concerns across all Nomad pieces — Owners often liked the firm, supportive sit; dissenting owners described hard cushions, thin back support, or a posture too upright for lounging. Counts cover comfort mentions across all Nomad pieces, not just this armchair.
  • Compact modular fit is a recurring strength: 253 favorable mentions; 64 concerns across all Nomad pieces — Owners frequently valued boxed delivery up stairs and through narrow entries, though some found particular configurations larger, shorter or less lounge-friendly than expected. Counts cover size-and-fit mentions across all Nomad pieces, including sofas and sectionals.
  • Durability is encouraging but upholstery wear deserves attention: 229 favorable mentions; 59 concerns across all Nomad pieces — Many owners described sturdy modules and lasting cushions. Concerns included pilling, fraying, sagging, broken legs and failed connectors; the failures are individual reports. Counts cover durability mentions across all Nomad pieces, including sofas and sectionals.

Before buying

Choose the Nomad Armchair for a firm, upright sit with a 22-inch seat depth, not for sinking in. Ask Burrow which upholstery best resists pilling and fraying, and which cushions, latches and legs it sells as replacements.
