Wide STORKLINTA owners praise the styling, storage and one-drawer interlock; others report limited drawer reach, odor, difficult assembly and breakage

Room×Lab read 308 distinct written IKEA owner reviews of the wide STORKLINTA six-drawer dresser, covering this oak-effect version and the white and dark-brown/oak versions. Some owners don't name their finish, some long-use reports may describe an earlier version, and few owners say how long they have used it or whether they received incentives. IKEA's 3.96/5 average covers 309 ratings across these listings, and 191 of them are five stars. Reviews of the tall six-drawer dresser, other drawer counts and MALM are left out, as are comments only about service. The six reviews below all come from the oak-effect listing. We picked two praise accounts and four complaints to show the range of problems owners describe, not how often each one happens.

Room×Lab rating: 6.1 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners of the wide STORKLINTA, including this oak-effect version, praise its styling, storage and one-drawer interlock. Restricted drawer reach, odor, uneven assembly and breakage complaints cap the score. The verdict rests on IKEA owner reviews, not independent testing.

  • Assembly outcomes vary sharply: 9 favorable and 6 critical mentions about assembly. — Some owners describe straightforward solo builds, and videos helped in three favorable accounts. Critical accounts describe long or unfinished builds, poor instructions and parts that arrived broken. One owner still could not fit the drawers after following both the instructions and the video guidance.
  • Durability reports are split: 5 favorable and 6 critical mentions about durability. — Praise comes from early sturdiness impressions and from long-use accounts that may describe an earlier version. Complaints describe isolated cases of drawers separating and frames failing. One dresser collapsed during a room move after the owner swapped the supplied plastic fasteners for metal ones, and the owner doesn't say whether the swap caused it.
  • The interlock adds safety tradeoffs: 5 favorable and 5 critical mentions about interlock and drawer access. — Owners valued one-drawer-at-a-time operation and the included wall hardware, but reported drawers that open only partway, rear contents out of reach and one concern about catching fingers. IKEA's product page and manual conflict on opening several drawers at once after anchoring.

Before buying

Buy only if you can anchor it and accept the 10 7/8 in. drawer pull-out, which leaves rear contents hard to reach. Follow the manual's one-drawer-at-a-time warning until IKEA confirms which guidance applies.
