Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 29, 2026

Abaco 83-inch sofa owners praise the deep, comfortable seat but warn the wicker looks grey and light cushions show dirt

Crate & Barrel's 489 ratings cover the whole Abaco collection, including tables, chairs and loungers, so its average is not sofa-only. Room×Lab read 377 distinct written reviews of the Abaco 83-inch sofa: the shown Canvas Natural listing, including one- to several-year reports; a generic listing, mostly first-season or undated and rarely naming cushion color; the Canvas Charcoal version; older charcoal-grey wicker versions; and replacement Natural and Charcoal cushions. Comfort, color, weight and arm findings concern the frame; soiling and fading stay tied to the cushion color named. One several-year fading report on the shown listing began with greenish cushions, not Canvas Natural, before white replacements; a same-named review on the charcoal listing may be the same owner. The reviews below show two praise accounts, one after three seasons, the most frequent complaints, and one mold report shown for completeness.

Room×Lab rating: 6.9 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners of the Abaco 83-inch sofa, across its versions, praise the deep, comfortable seat, wide arms and easy-to-move frame. The caveats: several find the wicker greyer than photos, light cushions show dirt, some cushions discolored or faded over several years, and service accounts lean critical.

  • Deep, comfortable seating: 22 favorable and 4 critical mentions about seat comfort and cushion support. — Owners of the shown, generic and charcoal listings describe deep seats, thick cushions and room to nap. Critics had charcoal or graphite cushions: one charcoal-grey wicker owner found the back cushions unsupportive; others wanted thicker or firmer cushions. Most give short or no use periods.
  • Wicker looks greyer in person than in photos: 7 favorable and 10 critical on wicker color vs photos; most critics call it greyer, two cite a mismatch. — Several buyers expected a tan or brown mix and found grey wicker; some cut stars or struggled to pair it with wood furniture. Others like the grey or say it blends with neutrals. One complaint concerns an older charcoal-grey wicker version. Owners describe a color mismatch, not a defect.
  • Keeping light cushions clean: 6 favorable and 7 critical mentions about soiling on light or white cushions. — Critics include replacement Canvas Natural cushions that arrived bright white, not creamy, and looked dirty even on a covered, screened porch, and natural cushions that turned dingy. Others say bird droppings and dirt came out easily. Most give short or no use periods; a couple don't name the cushion color.

Before buying

Choose it for a deep, low, easy-to-move wicker sofa, but see the wicker in person; several owners found it greyer than photos. Light cushions show dirt, and both light and charcoal sets have stained or faded, some even under covers.
