Room×Lab Review · Review updated October 15, 2026

Both Seagull owners call it comfortable, as do Beach Linen owners, but one Seagull owner found it far bigger than expected

Room×Lab read 11 distinct written reviews, posted November 2023 to April 2026 by US and Singapore buyers: two of the Seagull chair shown here, six of Beach Linen chairs, one of a Beach Linen pair and two of the separately sold covers. One chair review and one cover review share a name. All are verified and earned loyalty points; one was written just after delivery, and none describes long-term wear. Castlery's 4.5-star average from 478 ratings, shown in September 2026, also covers the pair and the covers, and can include ratings without a written review. Shown below: both Seagull reviews, including the only four-star one, and four Beach Linen reviews.

Room×Lab rating: Rated on owner experience, fit & function and value (limited confidence). Both Seagull owners call the Dawson comfortable, and Beach Linen owners praise the same deep seat, swivel and look. The caveats: one Seagull owner found it far bigger than expected, and no owner reports how the cushions, fabric or swivel base hold up over years of use.

  • Comfortable, deep seat: 7 reviews praise the comfortable, deep seat; one of them ties its recommendation to liking a slouched posture — Both Seagull reviewers call it comfortable, one of them super comfortable. Beach Linen chair owners and the Beach Linen pair buyer describe it as cozy or deep-seated, and one owner who had just received it now sits there instead of on their big couch. The four-star Seagull reviewer recommends it mainly to people who like a more slouched way of sitting.
  • Large overall size: 3 favorable and 2 critical mentions about the chair's large size — The four-star Seagull reviewer found it far bigger than expected and took off a star, and a five-star Beach Linen reviewer warns it is quite oversized. Others welcome the size: a Singapore Seagull reviewer calls it large and comfortable, and a Beach Linen pair buyer calls the chairs big and roomy.
  • Removable and spare covers: 4 favorable and no critical mentions about removable covers and spare slipcovers — The pair buyer praises the fabric and removable covers. A Beach Linen chair reviewer bought the other slipcover color, a review under the same name on the separately sold cover recommends a second color, and a Singapore cover buyer values spares for spills. No owner describes washing, stain removal or refitting.
