Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 1, 2026

Owners like the Villa Park's compact size and look but report water and heat marks, uneven wood tones and some tipping

Room×Lab read 111 distinct written reviews of the brown Villa Park table on Target, where 246 ratings average 4.27 stars. They include 26 one- and two-star reviews; 108 are older and 3 recent. Target shows the fully assembled and assembly-required versions under one review set, so these reviews cover both versions of this brown table, not other Villa Park designs or colors. The six reviews below are examples, not a tally: two show the common praise for looks, size and value, and four show the recurring complaints about wood tone and water and heat marks and the occasional reports of tipping.

Room×Lab rating: 6.6 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners of the brown Villa Park like its compact size, neutral look and value on sale, but report water and heat marks on the top, wood tones that vary between units, and some tipping. The score covers both the assembled and assembly-required versions and rests on owner reviews alone.

  • Surface protection: 3 favorable mentions; 17 concerns — In the 111 written reviews Room×Lab read, owners described water and heat marks, scratches and cracks from ordinary use; one owner saw water marks despite wiping them up promptly. Owners often recommended coasters or a protective finish.
  • Color and finish consistency: 18 favorable mentions; 37 concerns — Owners often liked the natural-wood look, but those comparing units found noticeably different brown, pale, gray, yellow or pink tones; one owner of two tables returned the pinker one. A few reported finishing defects.
  • Compact placement: 11 favorable mentions; 0 concerns — Owners liked the proportions beside sofas, as bedside tables and in smaller rooms. Check the 18.88-inch top and 24.25-inch height against the sofa arm or mattress it will sit beside.

Before buying

Choose it as a compact table beside a sofa or bed if you will use coasters from day one; owners report water and heat marks. For a pair, compare wood tones and finish; some owners reported tipping, so place lamps carefully, especially around children.
