Owners praise the minutes-long leg assembly and compact scale beside seating; isolated accounts say the walnut top scratches and stains easily

Room×Lab read all 271 distinct written reviews among the 523 ratings for the Amoeba Side Table, 34 of them recent and 237 older. Article shows reviews of the Walnut, White Oak and earlier side-table listings together, so counts cover all finishes; each card below names the finish or listing the owner had. The differently sized Amoeba coffee tables are reviewed separately. One Walnut owner wrote after several years of use. The reviews below show the most common praise, that owner's several years of use, and the main complaints, which are far rarer than the praise.

Room×Lab rating: 8.4 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners of the Walnut, White Oak and earlier listings praise legs that attach in minutes, compact scale beside seating and a table that looks more expensive than expected. Caveats: a few found the top soft and quick to scratch or stain, one owner's three-legged table tipped, and some reported chips or finish flaws.

  • Fast, uncomplicated assembly: 62 favorable mentions; 1 concern — Owners repeatedly described attaching the three legs by hand in seconds or minutes.
  • Compact placement beside seating: 49 favorable fit mentions; 4 concerns — Owners commonly liked the scale beside sofas, chairs, or beds, although one isolated account said it appeared smaller online.
  • Attractive finish with surface-care caveats: 33 favorable finish mentions and 8 concerns; 11 favorable durability mentions and 5 concerns — Counts cover all finishes. Isolated accounts described wood too soft for daily use (earlier listing), everyday scratches and stains (Walnut), chips, and minor finish defects.

Before buying

Choose it for quick assembly and compact scale beside seating if you will use coasters and protect a walnut top a few owners found scratches and stains easily. Check the 18.5-inch height against your sofa or chair arm, and keep weight off the edge.
