Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

Owners of both sizes praise the soft gauze; several Standard owners describe a loose fit, and snags, pilling and fading come up

Room×Lab read 436 distinct written owner reviews on Quince's page, which shares one set of reviews across the Standard and King sizes and every color and pattern, so counts here cover both sizes and all colors. Some owners also describe matching gauze blankets, quilts, duvet covers or comforters. Among the owners quoted below, the longest stated use is about five months. Quince marks some reviews as incentivized, including every review quoted below. The reviews below show the most specific complaints about color, pilling, snags and fit, plus one detailed praise, so complaints appear more often here than on the page, where 395 of 454 ratings are five stars.

Room×Lab rating: 8.0 out of 10 (medium confidence). Owners rate the soft, cozy gauze highly (4.78 stars from 454 ratings across both sizes and all colors), but several Standard owners describe a loose fit, and reports of snags, pilling and fading keep it below the top tier.

  • Softness is the clearest strength: 244 favorable mentions; 6 concerns — Across the 436 distinct written reviews Room×Lab read, covering both sizes and all colors, owners describe the surface as soft, cozy and breathable. Isolated owners found it itchy, bumpy or less soft than expected.
  • The relaxed look is popular, but shades can vary or fade: 182 favorable mentions of the look; 21 concerns about look or color — Owners often like the textured, coordinated look. The concerns include unexpected undertones, mismatched shades between pieces and fading; one Fog Grey owner saw dramatic fading and mismatched shades after the first wash.
  • Washing holds up for many owners, but the gauze snags and pills: 78 favorable mentions of washing; 19 wear concerns — Several owners report the shams coming through washing well. The 19 wear concerns include easy snags, pulled threads, pilling, fading and pet damage; one owner of the orange color saw pilling after about five months.

Before buying

Choose these Standard shams for soft, crinkled gauze if you can keep them from zippers and pets and accept shades that can fade or vary. Several Standard owners describe a loose fit, so check the 20 x 26 in size against your pillows or use fuller inserts.
