Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 1, 2026

Across every BRIMNES storage frame, owners praise the four drawers, split on assembly, and report more durability problems than praise

Room×Lab read all 1,892 distinct written IKEA reviews of the BRIMNES bed frame with storage, at every star level, dated July 2016 through August 2026. IKEA shows the same reviews on the black, gray and white Full, Queen and King frames with any slat option (none, LURÖY or LÖNSET), so the counts here cover the whole BRIMNES storage-frame range, not the gray King alone. Reviews run from assembly to as long as ten years of use. Packages with the BRIMNES storage headboard have their own reviews and are not included. The reviews shown pair slat, assembly, drawer-gap and mold complaints with owners of three and five years and one who moved the frame twice.

Room×Lab rating: 7.5 out of 10 (medium confidence). BRIMNES owners across all colors and sizes praise the four deep drawers, space efficiency and value. Durability is the caveat: some report five to ten years of use and successful moves, while others describe loosening hardware, drawer wear, squeaks and slats slipping off their supports.

  • Assembly divides owners: 218 favorable mentions; 236 concerns — Many owners found the build manageable. Others struggled with the instructions, drawer construction and the long parts, or found the drawers would not close evenly once built. Counts cover written reviews at every star rating across all BRIMNES storage-frame colors and sizes.
  • Storage is the clearest strength: 143 favorable mentions; 90 concerns — Owners repeatedly praise the four deep drawers, with one five-year owner saying they replaced a closet. Concerns are nightstands blocking the drawers, the overall bed height, and slat or mattress fit. Counts cover written reviews at every star rating across all BRIMNES storage-frame colors and sizes.
  • Durability concerns outnumber praise: 33 favorable mentions; 184 concerns — Some owners report years of service and moves without damage. Others describe fragile drawer parts, scratches, peeling and breakage, and one owner returned the bed after about nine months of slats slipping and drawer brackets coming loose. Serious failures are individual reports; counts cover all BRIMNES storage-frame colors and sizes.

Before buying

Choose the BRIMNES King for its four deep drawers if you will fit every support strip and rail carefully: BRIMNES owners report slats dropping, uneven drawers and frames failing after a move. Leave room beside nightstands for the drawers to open.
