Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 27, 2026

Owners of other Keane beds, including Driftwood and Weathered Natural King Canopies, praise looks and sturdiness; delivery and fit outcomes vary

Crate & Barrel's 4.43-star average comes from 1,796 ratings across the whole Keane collection, including dressers, nightstands and tables, not just beds. Room×Lab read 1,532 distinct written reviews and draws here on those about Keane beds in Black, Driftwood, Weathered Natural and older Espresso/Wenge finishes, including leather and upholstered beds. None came from a buyer of the Black King Canopy shown here, so each account names the size and finish its owner bought. Most owners do not say how long they have had the bed. The reviews below show the most common praise and the most detailed complaints about damage, assembly and fit.

Room×Lab rating: 7.0 out of 10 (medium confidence). Owners of other Keane beds, including Driftwood and Weathered Natural King Canopies, praise looks and sturdiness; delivery, assembly and mattress-fit outcomes vary, and few state how long they have used it. No review Room×Lab read came from a Black King Canopy buyer; the 4.43 rating covers the whole collection.

  • Appearance and design: 17 favorable and 3 critical mentions about appearance and design. — Across Keane beds in several finishes, owners praised clean lines, wood grain and room presence. The three critics described newer proportions that looked shorter, a finish grayer than pictured, and an Espresso finish that looked plastic-like.
  • Construction, stability and perceived quality: 19 favorable and 4 critical mentions about construction and perceived quality. — Owners across sizes and finishes called the beds sturdy or well made. The four critics reported cracked rails, a scratched headboard, a missing beam or disappointing quality. Other Keane bed reviews mention support, frame or mold problems; an upholstered King owner reported a chemical odor still strong after five days of airing.
  • Delivery and assembly: 13 favorable and 9 critical or mixed mentions about delivery and assembly. — Accounts range from assembly by delivery staff in under 30 minutes and manageable self-assembly (about four hours for a Driftwood King Canopy) to delays, repeat damage, cracked rails, incomplete white-glove assembly and a missing structural beam.

Before buying

Check the 79.5-inch canopy height against your ceiling and your mattress against the 76.5 × 80.75 in opening; a Driftwood King Canopy owner needed a do-it-yourself fix for a Sleep Number adjustable base. Check rails and headboard for damage at delivery.
