Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 29, 2026

Birch Ivory king owners mostly find the Sven solid, quiet and manageable to assemble; a few report noise or misdrilled holes

Room×Lab read all 79 distinct written reviews on Article's listing for the Sven King Tufted Bed in Birch Ivory, posted from July 2021 through August 2026; another 28 reviews gave a star rating without comments. Every review covers this king-size Birch Ivory bed; reviews of the queen size, other colors, and the leather, velvet, storage-bed and headboard-only versions are left out. One owner wrote after about two years of use. The reviews below show the most detailed complaints next to praise that matches what most owners describe; 67 of the 79 written reviews are five-star, so complaints are rarer than this mix suggests.

Room×Lab rating: 7.7 out of 10 (limited confidence). Birch Ivory king owners rate the Sven highly and often describe a solid, quiet frame with manageable assembly. The caveats: one persistently squeaky frame, a few misdrilled-hole reports, and one owner whose legs detached after about two years with no parts sold after the one-year warranty.

  • Usually solid and quiet: 19 favorable mentions; 3 concerns — Owners repeatedly describe a stable frame that stays quiet. Of the 3 concerns, one owner (January 2022) had squeaking that continued through repeated troubleshooting and suspected a warped frame; another mentioned mild creaking.
  • Assembly is generally manageable: 22 favorable mentions; 9 concerns — Owners commonly set it up alone or with two people. The 9 concerns include misaligned or incompletely drilled holes (one repeat buyer's second bed, June 2026, had badly placed screw holes, unlike the first), confusing directions and hardware issues.
  • Birch Ivory is a versatile but variable neutral: 13 favorable mentions; 1 concern — Owners described the fabric as cream, gray, taupe, or a warm-cool neutral; one paired it with walnut furniture. One owner found it much darker than Article's photos.

Before buying

Choose it for the solid, quiet frame owners describe if a low sleeping height and possible misdrilled holes are fine. Measure your mattress against the 76.5-by-80-inch interior; ask Article if legs, slats and hardware are sold after the one-year warranty.
