Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

One owner's two armchairs looked new after a summer; collection-wide, owners praise comfort and covers but note firm cushions and slow deliveries

Room×Lab read all 122 distinct written reviews Outer shows across its Aluminum Seating Collection; the same reviews appear on the white and charcoal armchairs. Many describe sofas, sectionals, armless chairs, ottomans or mixed sets, so the counts and ratings here cover the whole collection, not this armchair alone. One owner of two armchairs describes a summer of use; another reports about 2.5 years with a set in intense Southern California sun. Most reviews give five stars; the reviews below show the armchair and chair accounts, a multi-year report and detailed complaints.

Room×Lab rating: 8.4 out of 10 (medium confidence). An owner of two armchairs praised comfort and quick covers after a summer, and owners across the collection report sound frames after several years. The caveats: firm cushions, occasional cushion breakdown or cover cracking, and orders that arrived late or incomplete, some taking months to resolve.

  • Comfort is the clearest strength: 83 favorable comfort mentions across collection reviews — Owners across the collection repeatedly praised comfort, but a few found the cushions firmer or less enveloping than expected, and one taller owner found the seat low.
  • Multi-year durability is encouraging, not flawless: 29 favorable durability mentions across collection reviews — Isolated reports describe fading, cushion softening, cover cracking or cushion-core breakdown: after about 2.5 years in intense Southern California sun, one owner saw rust-free metal but slight fading and softening and some cover cracking; the most recent review, from July 2026, described inner cushions breaking down and waterlogging after modest rain.
  • Helpful service coexists with fulfillment risk: 25 favorable service mentions; delivery drew 16 favorable mentions and 14 concerns — Many owners praised replacements and exchanges, while individual owners describe damaged or incomplete orders, slow communication, and waits of months for missing parts or replacement cushions.

Before buying

Check the armchair's 16-inch seat height and firm, deep cushions against how you sit, fasten the cover tightly in wind, shelter cushions in long rain, and ask Outer about delivery timing and replacement-part availability.
