Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

Owners praise Mori's deep, sink-in seat; on this sofa's listing, complaints include pilling, stains on arrival and after a spill, and one broken frame

Room×Lab read all 254 distinct written reviews of Castlery's Mori collection, drawn from 264 reviews submitted September 2023 through August 2026; Castlery labels every one as from a verified, incentivized owner. These reviews cover all twelve Mori configurations on Room×Lab plus other Mori modules, so the counts below describe the whole collection, not this sofa alone. Few owners describe Mori after several years of use. The six reviews below were all posted on the Mori Sofa with Ottoman listing and show its complaints beside its praise; across Mori, 228 of the 264 ratings are five stars.

Room×Lab rating: 7.7 out of 10 (medium confidence). Owners of this sofa and other Mori pieces praise the deep, sink-in comfort and low, open look. The caveat is wear: across Mori, owners report pilling, misshapen cushions and sinking, forum owners split on whether the cushions hold their shape, and few describe several years of use.

  • Deep, lounge-friendly comfort: 145 favorable mentions; 6 concerns — Across all Mori configurations, owners commonly praised the sink-in depth and support. The few concerns: a seat too low or too deep, not cushy enough, or simply uncomfortable.
  • Low profile usually works, but depth needs planning: 68 favorable mentions; 5 concerns — Across Mori, owners often said the sofa suited their rooms and looked visually open. The deep seat (45.7 in overall on the sofas and loveseats, more on sectionals) can still take up more floor space than shoppers expect.
  • Long-term shape and surface wear are the watchpoint: 31 favorable mentions; 10 concerns — Across Mori, the 10 concerns describe pilling, misshapen cushions, slight sinking and, from one owner of this sofa, a central frame member that broke within a year.

Before buying

Choose this sofa for deep, sink-in lounging if a low seat suits you and you can accept owner reports of pilling and stains. Allow 45.7 inches of depth plus the 26.4-inch-deep ottoman, sample the fabric, and confirm warranty and return terms first.
