Auburn Seating Collection

Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

Across all Auburn configurations, owners praise a supportive, firm seat and sculptural look; some report stains, uneven modules and loose fibers

Room×Lab read 395 distinct written reviews from Castlery's Auburn listings, covering every configuration: sofa, curve, extended, armless, chaise, sectional, single modules and the ottoman. The counts below describe the whole collection, not this sofa with ottoman alone; Castlery's listing for this set shows 297 reviews of its own. Of the 395, 62 are recent and 333 older; some owners write after about a year of use. The six reviews below were picked to span every star rating from five to one, not to show how common each view is: 367 of 408 Auburn ratings are five stars.

Room×Lab rating: 7.9 out of 10 (medium confidence). Across all Auburn configurations, owners praise a supportive, medium-firm seat and the sculptural look, which lift the score. The caveats: one owner's juice spill soaked in, some modules differed in height or fill, and some owners found the seat too firm or low for long lounging.

• Supportive comfort, not sink-in softness: 204 favorable mentions; 11 concerns — Across 395 reviews of all Auburn configurations, owners usually describe a supportive, medium-firm seat; one owner after about a year said it stays firm rather than sink-in soft. The 11 concerns call it too hard, too low-backed, or not comfortable enough for long movie sessions.
• Sculptural looks are a standout strength: 116 favorable mentions; 10 concerns — Across all Auburn configurations, owners praise the curved silhouette, textured bouclé and the way it brightens a room. The 10 concerns are separate complaints: an unexpected color, uneven module heights (one about a centimeter higher than the rest), sewing defects, protruding fibers and early wrinkling.
• Durability reports are mostly good but not uniform: 39 favorable mentions; 7 concerns — Across all Auburn configurations, several owners report cushions keeping their shape and little pilling, one after about a year with a cat. The 7 concerns are isolated accounts of loose threads, holes, wrinkling, underfilled backrests and premature wear.

Before buying

Choose the Auburn sofa with ottoman for its sculptural shape and firm, supportive seat if a low 16.7-inch seat suits you. Test a swatch for spills and debris, and on delivery check every cushion for even height and fill within the 30-day return window.
