The caveats: some found it shorter or smaller than expected, glaring up close or unsteady on carpet, and few say how long they have used it.

• Assembly is usually straightforward: 27 favorable mentions; 6 concerns — Owners commonly described quick or simple setup. Isolated problems involved missing or poorly fitting hardware, including a screw that was too short and base felt that did not fit.
• Compact proportions suit some rooms better than others: 12 favorable fit mentions; 8 concerns — The small footprint worked well in reading nooks and tight corners. Other owners found the lamp shorter or smaller than they expected.
• Few owners describe long-term wear: 2 favorable mentions; 6 concerns — Few owners have written about how the lamp wears over time. One owner said the base broke after a few months and could not be repaired. No other owner reports that failure.

Before buying

Choose the Brass Lissom for directed reading light in a tight corner. Some owners found it shorter than expected or glaring up close, so check its 54–64 inch height against your seat and ask Article whether it dims.
