Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

Gia owners describe a solid, wobble-free desk, but the heavy crated base, corner cable opening and finish variation draw complaints

Room×Lab read 116 distinct written reviews on Rove's standard Gia Desk listing, dated December 2020 through June 2026; few owners report on years of use. The listing shares reviews across both sizes (63- and 88-inch) and all desktop and base finishes, and most owners do not say which they bought. It shows no reviews below four stars: 101 five-star, 15 four-star. Rove labels reviewers Verified but does not say how reviews are verified, moderated or incentivized, and may remove or edit site content at its discretion; no owner disclosed an incentive. Gia Desk (Black Label) reviews are excluded. The reviews below pair the common praise with the recurring complaints.

Room×Lab rating: 8.3 out of 10 (medium confidence). Owners describe a solid, wobble-free Gia. Rove's listing, shared across sizes and finishes, shows no reviews below four stars and does not say how reviews are moderated. Caveats: a heavy crated base, a corner cable opening, finish variation, Trustpilot reports of damage on arrival, and few multi-year reports.

  • Stability is the clearest strength: 16 favorable mentions; no stability concerns — Owners repeatedly describe the Gia as solid, sturdy and free of wobble, and one reports it staying stable with daily use. No owner among the 116 reviews raised a stability concern.
  • Assembly is simpler than handling: 11 favorable assembly mentions; 11 concerns — Owners generally found the instructions straightforward, but the heavy base, wooden crate, placement and packaging disposal often took helpers or professional service. One owner regretted skipping white-glove service because of the packaging.
  • Finish expectations deserve scrutiny: 5 favorable finish mentions; 9 concerns — Some owners found base veining grayer than the photos (the black stone option), a 2021 owner of the two-piece veined base reported visibly mismatched pieces, and others found sheen or material unlike their expectations. Older reviews that call the base marble, stone or resin may describe an earlier version.

Before buying

Measure for the 63 × 31.5-inch footprint, book white-glove delivery or helpers for the heavy crated base, and check the corner cable opening against your cord lengths. Some owners report finish variation, so request finish samples.
