Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026
One Clifton set including a table looked new after three years; a few other Clifton owners saw exposed teak fade, mildew or water-mark
Room×Lab read all 99 distinct written reviews on Modloft's Clifton Outdoor pages, dated May 2020 to June 2026. Modloft shows no review below four stars, and its terms let it edit or remove submitted reviews; its widget marks 96 as verified and 15 as incentivized without explaining either label. The same reviews appear on all seven Clifton pieces: dining table, dining chair, lounge chair, sofa, coffee table, corner sectional and sectional sofa. Each card names the owner's piece; one owner's set included a table. Owners describe use from weeks to three years. The reviews below show every wood-weathering and delivery complaint, plus two long-use reports of praise.
Room×Lab rating: Rated on owner experience, durability, value and service & support (limited confidence). One owner's Clifton set with a table looked new after three years. Modloft shows only four- and five-star reviews, may edit or remove them, and shares them across all seven Clifton pieces; a few owners of other pieces saw exposed teak fade, mildew or water-mark. No publication has reviewed this table.
- Exceptionally favorable reviews across the Clifton collection: 99 favorable ratings: 90 five-star and 9 four-star — Modloft shows no reviews below four stars, and the same reviews appear on all seven Clifton pieces. Even some top-rated reviews raised upkeep, fading, fit or delivery concerns.
- Encouraging longevity with exposed-wood caveats: 10 favorable durability mentions; two four-star wood-weathering concerns and one five-star fading anecdote — A lounge-chair owner saw no visible wear after three summers, and a set owner said the set looked new after three years. Against that, a sofa owner found fading and mildew in a third unprotected season, a coffee-table owner saw water marks within weeks, and another coffee-table owner saw the wood fade in direct sun.
- Delivery was usually praised but not uniformly dependable: 9 favorable delivery mentions; one concern described a five-month wait — One lounge-chair owner waited five months for delivery. Trustpilot reviewers of other Modloft pieces also report mixed delivery timing and updates.
Before buying
Plan to sand and reseal the teak top: a few owners of other Clifton pieces saw exposed teak fade, mildew or water-mark within weeks to three seasons. Ask Modloft how many it seats, its return terms and how the warranty covers outdoor wear.
