Large Sand owners praise its look and scale and report no failures; chipping and cracking reports come from other Wabi versions and one mixed-size order

Room×Lab read 80 distinct written reviews (May 2022 to April 2026) behind Crate & Barrel's 93 ratings, across all nine Wabi versions (three finishes, three sizes). Only 8 are Large Sand; others are Small Sand (11), Medium Sand (13), white (26) and slate (22). Most are short 5-star notes on shape, texture, color and scale. No Large Sand review reports a failure or a period of use; the longest favorable use report is about six months (Medium Slate), and chipping, fading and cracking come from Small Sand-labelled, Medium White or multi-size purchases. We show two Large Sand reviews, the longest favorable use report, a size return and the only two 1-star reviews.

Across the Wabi line, durability reports are short-term, with isolated chipping and cracking on other sizes and finishes, and frost resistance rests on Crate & Barrel's claim.

• Shape and matte finish win owners over: 22 favorable and 1 critical mention about shape, matte finish and color, across all Wabi versions. — Owners of every size and finish, including Large Sand buyers, praise the shape, matte texture and color, and several say it matches or beats the photos. Two owners who reported chipping or cracking still praised the look. The only color complaint came from a Medium White owner who repainted it; a Small Slate owner says the surface scuffs easily.
• Bigger in person than several owners expected: 11 favorable and 4 critical mentions about size and scale, across all Wabi versions. — Two Large Sand owners chose it for a faux 7-ft fig and for a house front, where four look substantial without dominating. One Medium Sand owner found it right for a 7-ft olive tree; another returned theirs, finding scale hard to judge from photos. A Small Sand-labelled owner found it too wide for a 7-ft olive tree; one owner urges measuring.

Before buying

Choose the Large Sand for its sculptural look and statement scale after measuring for its 24 x 29.5 in size. Treat its outdoor-finish and frost-resistance claims as Crate & Barrel's, since owner reports cover only months of use.
