Walnut owners praise the grain and narrow footprint; across both finishes, owners like that it comes built, though some units arrived broken

Room×Lab read 81 distinct written reviews on Article's page for the Krossa 31.5-inch shelving unit with storage: 29 recent and 52 older, 67 of them five-star. The page shows reviews of the walnut and white oak finishes together, and its 111 star ratings cover both finishes. Most owners do not say how long they have had the unit. The reviews below pair four that report problems, two of them from white oak owners, with two five-star walnut reviews, so problems appear more often here than in the reviews overall.

Room×Lab rating: 8.0 out of 10 (medium confidence). Walnut owners praise the Krossa's grain, sturdy feel and narrow footprint, and many like that it arrives built; both finishes together average 4.73 stars. But some units arrived broken or cracked, one white oak order's replacements also arrived damaged, and one walnut owner's doors would not align.

  • Ready-made convenience: 20 favorable assembly mentions; 2 concerns — Across the walnut and white oak reviews, owners repeatedly liked that the Krossa arrives fully assembled, with nothing to put together.
  • Compact storage fit: 13 favorable size-and-fit mentions; 2 concerns — Owners used the narrow footprint in offices, smaller rooms and beside fireplaces. One walnut owner storing records found they would not fit normally behind the cabinet doors.
  • Sturdy feel, but broken and defective units: 4 favorable durability mentions; 14 concerns — Concerns include units that arrived broken, cracked or warped parts, separation at a cabinet support, and a white oak order in which one unit and both of its replacements arrived damaged or defective before Article issued a refund. Some owners found the shelves solid and reinforced.

Before buying

Check the Krossa's doors and panels for damage or misalignment as soon as it arrives, and anchor it to the wall. Measure what goes behind the doors: one walnut owner's records would not fit normally in slightly under 11.75 inches of usable depth.
