Across Caliper 47" finishes, owners praise easy assembly and a solid frame; scratches, stains and misdrilled parts are the caveats

Room×Lab read all 236 distinct written owner reviews on Article's Caliper 47" page, drawn from 329 ratings averaging about 4.76 stars; 230 of the written reviews are older and 6 are recent. Article shows reviews of earlier versions and other finishes on this page, so the counts here cover the Caliper 47" across finishes and versions, not White/Walnut alone. The six reviews below all come from the White/Walnut listing. They span one to five stars, so complaints appear more often among them than in the reviews overall.

Room×Lab rating: 8.1 out of 10 (medium confidence). Caliper 47" owners, in reviews that also cover earlier versions and other finishes, praise its looks, easy assembly and solid frame. The caveat, reported by a minority: scratches, stains, chips, damaged parts and misdrilled holes, sometimes found as soon as the unit arrived.

  • Assembly is usually straightforward: 80 favorable mentions; 12 concerns — Most owners found the build manageable, but isolated mislabeled shelves, misaligned holes or parts that would not fit could halt assembly; one owner's top shelf was mislabeled or incorrectly drilled and would not go together without new holes.
  • The assembled unit generally feels solid: 46 favorable mentions; 6 concerns — Owners repeatedly call the frame and shelves solid, one describing them as heavy-duty under plants; a few report minor wobble, tilt or misalignment once built.
  • Finish flaws and defective parts are the main complaint: 11 favorable mentions; 20 concerns — Owners name scratches, stains, chips and defective parts, sometimes found as soon as the unit arrived; these 20 concerns outnumber the 11 favorable mentions of the materials. One White/Walnut owner found stains on the shelves and a persistent sticky substance on the wood.

Before buying

Choose it for the solid frame and easy build; some owners found scratches, stains or misdrilled shelves. Measure the delivery path, check every shelf before building, keep the packaging, and ask Article about anti-tip hardware and shelf load limits.
